Wow, we’re here in the early stages of the Summer!  What will you be up to – Baby Showers, or Christenings? Are you ready to give birth? Do you have a dear friend or family member about to become parents? If so mazel tov!

Well, we’re excited about this time of year and to prove it to you, we’ve recently added our Nor Collection. We look forward to new beginnings each Spring and much growth after a long Winter.  What’s New?  We are growing too and offer gifts  for your growing toddler so they can Grow Up Mon Petit Coeur.  As they grow, mom can enjoy some of the toddler gifts but in a different size with Mommy and Me gifts.

Our first bag was our bunting, our version of a blanket in our Signature Collection which celebrates the bonding of mom and baby during the first 100 days. April brought lots of rain to feed the soil and to help the flowers to blossom.  Adding a bit of Spring with all of the pastels are all welcomed in our wardrobes. New This Season: Bags and Belts!  Spring is a season of new and showcases creativity at its best!  Our new season will showcase colors as well as bags and belts. All around us, we will see trees become dressed with leaves, we are excited to see the Cherry trees blossoms.  The Festival started in Washington D.C last weekend in our backyard we can view orchids at the New York Botanical Garden.

Design and style were passed on to me by my mom.  I love her style and I can just imagine her as a young woman in her prime. Classic is how I would describe her style. As I grew older, I added to what I saw and crafted my individual style. Today I see my children, a teen and young adult crafting their own. Three generations of style are incorporated in Mon Petit Coeur.

Children can inspire us to do accomplish great things!

My business concept was inspired by my children and I love spending time with children.  Our Spring Collection received its inspiration from a creative young girl namely, Olivia Knights.  Olivia accompanied me, my daughter and friends to view the 2018 Holiday Windows display this past December.  While we were standing at the Louis Vuitton holiday window on 59th Street, Olivia asked, “Have you ever considered mixing the yarn colors to create a design.” Since our inception we’ve created products with solids and ombres and our only color blocked item was our white bottom booties. I began to ponder her concept, the seed took root in my mind, my imagination began to run wild and here we are today introducing a few firsts in our Spring 2019 Collections. We offer you three exciting hues which are joyful and uplifting. Our colors speak to our need to connect with nature all the while feeling fancy free as we plan to spend time with friends and family.

Cerise is our version of coral that displays the neckline, sunburst is centering the layering piece in the middle and the key lime is our finisher at the end of the jacket.  We are indeed better together and this Spring we offer you our color blocking in our Signature Collection namely, Melange of Colors.  We invite you to look forward to our jackets, hats, headbands as well as our new tote and cross body bag. Spring is certainly a time for new beginnings and we introduce our Nor Collection, a first bag for your little hearts as we witness them “growing up MPC.”

Welcome to 2019

After last year, we are ready for 2019.  We embrace the new and all that comes with 2019. We begin again with patterns and create our routine. First we will eat, drink, sleep, work, play and repeat.  In other words as adults we eat to live.  Similarly, newborns simply spend time eating and sleeping. A diet of breast milk or formula and then on to puree of fruit and vegetables.  Lastly there is the addition of starches and protein.

The first moments with mom and her newborn is indeed a happy time and bring joy to the entire family. No matter how many children you have, giving birth is a new experience each time around for the mom.  A new mom is learning how to care for herself and this new life and at times it can be emotionally and physically challenging. The first 100 days is a critical time of bonding between the mom and baby as feedings, diaper changes, baths, sleepless nights, older children, life etc become your new norm. Depending on the delivery type, expectations may need to shift a bit, the period can be a bit worrisome wanting everything with baby to be just right.

New beginnings are fun and exciting, mom and newborn are moving forward. My first child was a boy, labor was not extremely long, he was born at night and he slept for more than 10 hours after birth. Never wake a sleeping baby my doctor said and he was right. I wanted to breastfeed, latching on took sometime but I persevered because it was important to me. I was fortunate to be able to just focus on the baby while other household chores were taken care of and I certainly enjoyed swaddling baby and holding him close to me. Our bunting bag revisits my first few months as mom where I wanted to carry and not strap my baby. Hands wrapped about the baby while being swaddled, this maybe viewed as a leisure activity but it also serves as great bonding between mom and the newborn.
